Model Call 2008
Information for Models
The Dolphin
Circle of the International Order of the King's Daughters and
Sons greatly appreciates your interest and participation in the
Model Call for our American Girl Fashion Show. In conjunction with
American Girl we feel honored to present local girls
with this opportunity to take part in such an
outstanding event to benefit children's charities.
There will be four American Girl
Fashion Shows, two on November 8, and two on November 9, 2008, at
the Marriott Waterside Norfolk, 235 E. Main Street, Norfolk, VA at
10:15 and 1:30 each day.
We will choose 160 models (40
models for each of the four shows).
Models are chosen based
on their size, confidence on the walkway and their likeness to an American
Girl doll. Size 10 girls will model
Historical, Contemporary and Holiday clothing. Size 6X girls will
model Contemporary, Bitty Baby and Holiday clothing. We anticipate the
process of matching the models to storybook characters and
garments will be time consuming, therefore please allow ten
days after tryouts for email
notification.
If chosen to model, your daughter will be
given a mandatory appointment for fitting and photography. These sessions will be Saturday, September 27 or Sunday,
September 28, 2008 between 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. They will
be held at the Marriott Waterside Norfolk. This will be the only
opportunity models will have to be fitted and photographed in the
American Girl outfit. We have an outstanding local photographer who will
help capture this memorable experience. Photographs will be available
for purchase and will appear in the event program. If not chosen, please consider our Guest
Model option, information can be found on our website.
Dress rehearsal for all models
will be on Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Marriott Waterside Norfolk from
2:00-3:30 (show 1), 3:45-5:15 (show 2), 5:30-7:00 (show 3) and 7:15-8:45
(show 4).
Upon notification of your acceptance, you will
need to purchase tickets as quickly as possible as each model must be
accompanied by at least one ticket holding adult for the show in which she
is modeling. Preferred seating will
be held for model families until October 7th, at which time
seating will be opened to the general public. The seating will be assigned in the
order payment is received. Please plan ahead with family or
friends to ensure that your seats are together. Ticket order forms may be obtained at our
website: dolphincirclevb.com and mailed in or tickets can be
purchased at the fitting and photography session.
There will be a charge of $25.00 for your
daughter to participate as a model. This will cover her lunch the day of the show and the
inclusion of her photograph in the program. Please pay by check or
cash as we do not have the capability to use credit or debit cards.

Again, we want to thank

support and together we will raise funds for CHKD, Edmarc,
a children’s hospice and other local children’s
charities. This will be a great opportunity for you and your daughter
to share the American Girl experience, and we are sure that this will
be a memorable moment in your daughter’s childhood.
